Introduction of events at “Kyoto International Student House

京都国際学生の家では様々なイベントが実施されます。長期休暇の間は公式のイベントはありませんが、寮生が企画する非公式のイベントも多々実施されています。
寮生は公式のイベントには積極的に参加、協力することが求められます。
参加費用は基本的には無料で、寮の運営費(時に民間団体からの補助金)でまかなわれます。

Various events are held at the Kyoto International Student House. There are no official events during the long vacation, but there are many unofficial events organized by dormitory students.
Dormitory students are expected to actively participate in and cooperate with official events.
Participation is basically free, and is covered by dormitory operating expenses (sometimes subsidies from private organizations).

(半年間で約6回)

およそ月二回程度、金曜日の夜に寮生や寮生友人が集まって食事をとります。
寮生は半年間で1度は料理を作って皆にふるまいます。
皆でサポートしますので、料理初心者でも大丈夫!人にご飯を食べてもらう喜びを感じられるようになった、と新たな趣味に目覚める寮生もいますよ。

About twice a month, dormitory students and dormitory friends gather for dinner on Friday nights.
Dormitory students cook and serve to everyone once every six months.
Everyone will support you, so even a cooking beginner can do it!
Some dormitory students have awakened to new hobbies, feeling the joy of having people eat their meals.

各回の取り仕切り(料理担当者へのお知らせ)を担当します。各回の料理担当者の決定・準備・買い出し・出欠者の確認・当日の司会を行います。
他の当番と違い、学期で何度も開催されるコモンミール。そのため、寮生皆と交流することができます。

I am in charge of organizing each time (notice to the person in charge of cooking). We will decide the person in charge of cooking each time, prepare, buy, confirm the attendance, and act as the moderator on the day. Common meal is held many times in the semester unlike other duties.

新寮生を歓迎する会です。
早く寮の生活になじんでもらえるように、寮生皆でおもてなしします。
在寮生が新寮生のためにパーティ料理をたくさん用意してくれます。

This is a party to welcome new residents.
All the dormitory students will welcome you so that you can get used to life in the dormitory as soon as possible.
Residents prepare a lot of party food for new residents.

当番はありません。新学期のチームが中心になり在寮生皆で、料理・準備・買い出しを行い開催されます。

There is no turn. The new semester team plays a central role in cooking, preparing, and shopping for all dormitory residents.

スポーツを通じて交流を図ります。
最近では散歩やハイキングなどを楽しむこともあります。

予算に応じてイベント内容を企画します。準備や計画全てを担当します。どれだけ皆を楽しませる計画ができるか、あなたの企画力が試されます。

We plan events according to your budget. Responsible for all preparations and planning. Your planning ability will be tested to see how much you can plan to entertain everyone.

(春のイベント)

様々な国の料理を作って振舞う、春の大きなイベントです。
近隣住民や関係者を招いて、寮を紹介する機会でもあります。

近隣住民への周知(ポスター作製や配布まで)に始まり、イベント実施にあたりすべてを計画・企画します。イベント実施まで大変な労力はかかりますが、その分皆を楽しませることができる、やりがいのある当番です。
料理は寮生全員が協力して行います。

We plan and plan everything for the event, starting with informing local residents (including creating and distributing posters). It takes a lot of effort to carry out the event, but it is a rewarding duty that can entertain everyone accordingly.
All dormitory students cooperate in cooking.

学期終わりに寮を皆で掃除します。

This is a party to welcome new residents.
All the dormitory students will welcome you so that you can get used to life in the dormitory as soon as possible.
Residents prepare a lot of party food for new residents.

Cleaning Dayイベントの準備、当日の昼食手配を担当します。
また、日常的に共有キッチンの衛生管理・消耗品管理・掃除当番の割り当ても担当します。最大17名が毎日使うキッチンを綺麗に保つことができるかどうかは、当番次第。

I will be in charge of preparing for the Cleaning Day event and arranging lunch on the day.
In addition, I am in charge of hygiene management, consumables management, and assignment of cleaning duty on a daily basis in the shared kitchen. It is up to you to keep the kitchen clean and tidy, which is used by up to 17 people every day.

(秋のイベント、一泊二日)

寮生が企画して、毎年様々な場所へ旅行に行きます。
寮から離れた場所での宿泊で、皆との距離もぐっと近づきます。

Dormitory students plan trips to various places every year.
By staying away from the dormitory, you can get closer to everyone.

最大で34名にもなる寮生に加え、時にスカラーを含めて40名前後の大人数の旅行を企画してもらいます。限られた予算でどれだけ魅力的な旅を計画できるか、当番の腕にかかっています。

In addition to the maximum of 34 dormitory students, we sometimes plan trips for as many as 40 people, including scholars. It is up to the person on duty to plan an attractive trip on a limited budget.

寄附者や関係者を招いて、日頃の感謝を伝える会を行います。
沢山の料理と、時には出し物をして皆で楽しみます。

We invite donors and related parties and hold a meeting to convey our daily gratitude.
Everyone enjoys a lot of food and sometimes a performance.

パーティ料理でもてなした後、Thanks Givingでは寮生による恒例のパフォーマンスもお楽しみの一つ。普段と違い、フォーマルなイベントであることも特徴のひとつ。ゲストをホストとして迎える、貴重な経験ができます。料理は寮生全員が担当します。

After entertaining with party food, one of the pleasures is the customary performance by the dormitory students at Thanks Giving. One of the features is that it is a formal event unlike usual. You can have a valuable experience welcoming guests as hosts. All residents are in charge of cooking.

(冬のイベント)

忘年会も兼ねた、年末のイベントです。
クリスマスにちなんだ料理を囲みながらゲームや出し物をし、寮生やその友人家族で一年の労をねぎらいます。

This is an end-of-year event that doubles as a year-end party.
Dormitory students and their friends and family appreciate their hard work for the year by playing games and performing while enjoying Christmas-themed dishes.

イベントの企画、準備、料理担当の振り分けを担当します。料理は寮生皆で作りますが、当日の流れは当番にお任せ。皆で出し物をしたり、ゲームをしたり。催し物はその年によって内容は様々です。

Responsible for event planning, preparation, and distribution of food staff. All the dormitory students prepare the meals, but the flow of the day is left up to the duty. Everyone puts on performances and plays games. The content of the events varies from year to year.

Seminar

(春・秋の二回)

京都国際学生の家に関係する、もしくは国際的な活動をする方を招いての講演会、様々な体験ができる講習会(和菓子作りや書道教室、折り紙教室、ヨガ教室など)を行います。

We hold lectures by inviting people who are related to the Kyoto International Student House or who are involved in international activities, and workshops where you can experience various things (Japanese sweets making, calligraphy class, origami class, yoga class, etc.).

セミナーの企画・準備を担当します。「どのようなセミナーを行うか」「誰を招くか」は当番が計画し、当日までの流れをすべて担当します。 講師や外部の方をお招きしてイベントを実施するため、社会に出てからも必ずこの経験は活かせるはず。

Responsible for planning and preparing seminars. The person on duty plans "what kind of seminar to hold" and "who to invite", and is in charge of all the flow up to the day.
Since we invite lecturers and people from outside to hold events, we are sure that we will be able to make use of this experience even after we go out into the world.
