Welcome Party, 2020 Autumn, 10/9

It has been a traditional event to hold welcome party at the beginning of each semester for new residents, but since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020, unfortunately, we cancelled the spring welcome party, and took online approach to hold this event instead. Therefore, holding welcome party this time is quite meaningful to all HdB residents, House Parents, committee members, especially responsible people—Team.
As the leader of HdB residents, we needed to think of how to hold this event, at same time, taking precautions against COVID-19. So, unlike prior party, we made some changes, reducing non-residents participants, setting table for everyone to sit without freely moving around, and wearing mask during the activities after having foods. In addition to these changes, this time, HdB committee also invited Asahi newspaper journalists to have interview in our event, hoping to let more people know what HdB event looks like, what is the value of HdB, and the real thought of current residents.
The welcome party is a good opportunity for new residents to know each other and understand the culture of HdB. So, it is no exception that we Team made a video with interesting plot to introduce ourselves and also broadcasted our previous video to further make residents understand what is HdB. After introduction, we pleased committee representatives give us speeches to let everyone know the composition of HdB and up-coming HdB old member meeting. Last, the party was ended up in joyful small games that Team organized for new residents.
Through the first event of Autumn semester, we made the first step in progress, hoping the following events would go smoothly as first one and every resident could fully enjoy the life in HdB.
