11/16(Fri) Common Meal③
Tonight, this is the 3rd common meal of this semester. The cookers of this time, including me, made many different meals for this event. The types of cuisine range from salad, India curry to German sausage and Taiwanese Shacha Beef Stir Fry. With such a sumptuous common meal, every resident radiated the satisfaction from their face and many people who are invited to participate our common meal, also radiated the satisfaction from their face. Among these guests, they were from different countries, like China, Egypt and India, furthermore, some ex-residents attended this common meal as well. In the end, because I am a side dish cooker of this time (Shacha Beef Stir Fry), I was a little worried about what evaluation it is about my dish, but fortunately, many attendants gave me positive feedback, and especially some Chinese and Taiwanese residents, who had tried this meal before, also said this dish is the very genuine one, not inferior to the other Chinese restaurant made Shacha Beef. So, during whole common meal, I not only ate many kinds of exotic cuisine, but also felt a sense of accomplishment about my meal.
After common meal, we had the meeting to discuss about the following activities in our dormitory. Since last meeting, it was already 3 weeks ago, so this time, we discussed many things. For example, in the next week, we were about to host the thanksgiving event for appreciating the support from many sponsors, so the Toban of that event spent some time telling every residents what were their duties at that event. On the other hand, Christmas was up-coming, therefore the Toban briefly explained the rule and some information about it. Finally, the Housekeeping Toban spent some time telling us how to modify the current cleaning work and this alternation to me, was quite new, because we never arranged people to clean up the leftover after common meals, as a result, some leftover turned sour due to long time exposure to room temperature. After this discussion, I thought this problem would be solved or mitigated. In the sum, tonight’s common meal and meeting went very smoothly.
